Home Inspectors being licensed by the Registrar of Contractors (ROC) is almost as scary as having Home Inspectors continue to be licensed by the Board of Technical Registration (BTR).

I somehow think that it is a good idea to get home inspectors licensed by the Registrar of Contractors. There would then be a standardization of services.

I lived in AZ when I decided to start a home inspection service in 2009. It turns out that we moved back to South Carolina before I launched B-Sure Inspections. Whether it is the BTR or the ROC there needs to be government over site for our business. What struck about AZ was having to shadow 30 home inspections prior to obtaining a license. I'm sorry but if I was already an inspector I wouldn't want to help someone become my direct competitor by having them shadow my inspection process. My business has been in place for about a year and really enjoy being my own boss!
